painting day #2

The painting is finished.
We decided we didn't have enough time to paint the living room
last week with Joel's party and everything else that was going on.
So, yesterday James came over and we started on the living room.
(Yes, my brother-in-law is fantastic. He takes pictures and helps me paint!)

It took us most of the day.
Levi wasn't too happy about his little tiny corner that we restricted him too.
I don't know why he didn't like playing among the chaos!?
We had finished everything but the little room off the living room
when James had to leave.
After Levi went to bed I finished the second coat in that room.
I stayed up way too late and I am definitely feeling it right now.

So, today I am trying to get my house back into some sort of order.
The new color is fabulous.
It is so bright and clean looking...which is what I was going for.

And now the hard part.
Getting everything hung on the walls.
At least that is the hard part for me.
I have new curtains to hang.
I also need to switch out pictures and find a place for all of those picture frames.
I think it is time to put a few of Cora's pictures away
and put out more pictures of Levi.
We will always keep up Cora's pictures, but Levi needs some room too.
Ugh. I hate hard changes.

I had a few questions about the bbq decorations. I am going to try to answer them in a post later tonight, so if you are wondering about anything we did for Joel's party leave a comment.

With how crafty you are you could leave Cora's scrapbook out or a smaller version. It would be nice to keep it handy to show Levi...

It made my heart melt the other day when someone asked my daughter how many sisters she had? She said two... the lady looked confused and said no you mean one. Addie just looked at her and said no two... Alaina is one and my other sister Caylin lives in heaven :)

Praying for you as you make hard decisions about the photos.

The thought of having to put up some of Cora's pictures breaks my heart for you. I know I have so many pictures of my little girl that I frequently have to rotate them out. So I guess it is a natural progression. Still hard though. My question about Joel's party - how did you make the ice cream? Did you buy it somewhere or did you actually use a machine that used those giant metal cylinders? I am a city girl so maybe that's why I haven't seen something like that before :)

It is hard to make those kinds of decisions.

I wanted to give you a suggestion to preserve those gorgeous walls. I've used the "Command" picture hangers and they work great with no holes in the walls. You can find them in the hardware section by the "Command" hooks. Hope this helps you out a little :)

LOVE the paint color. Your house is beautiful! What is the brand and color that you used? I would love to paint my living room and family room the same color.

I can relate to the hard picture decisions, I was just thinking about that the other day. Our second baby isn't here yet, but Lord willing, will be born in January. Our NILMDTS pictures of Ethan are all over the house and I was wondering how I would deal with balancing his pictures with his younger siblings. Thank you for mentioning the hard things too, I always wonder how others feel about things like this.

On a brighter note, I love the paint!

I am not claiming that taking down Cora's pictures is easy or that thinking of it this way would make it any easier, but you can think that any time you add another child to your family, some of the pictures that were up before will be rotated out to make room to include the whole family!
