demolition

I was so excited when I heard that Cora's Playground was in progress.
The demolition began last Saturday.

All the old flooring has been removed.
Footings are in place for the shade structure.
The playground equipment should be installed any day now.
The next step will be the concrete and new flooring.
A special thanks to all the guys who helped with the demolition.
Thank you for giving up your Saturday!

It is amazing to see Cora's Playground becoming a reality.
Everything should be done by the end of August.
We are working on planning a dedication for the end of September.

I will keep you posted on the progress.

(I wasn't able to be at church for the demolition.  Our children's ministries director took these pictures so that we wouldn't miss anything.  Thanks Kris!)

It is wonderful to see that your hard work and the support of others has made your dream come true. Forever, a fun and happy tribute will be in place in remembrance of your dear Cora. Your new little Mac will have hours of happy fun on Cora's Playground. Never forget, you have two precious children who will enjoy this playground. Cora will be smiling in Heaven as she watches you and little Mac. "Think of puppies and kittens. Think of butterflies and spring. Think of sunny bright mornings." You are going to be happy in this place that carries Cora's name. Right now, you are on a roller coaster of feelings. It's not pleasant, but it is normal. Please believe me, it is not always going to be like this. My child died, and very soon after, God gave me the gift of another child. I was filled with mixed feelings. Happy, Happy, Sad and Worried all at the same time. You are such an inspiration to us. But hopefully, we can be an inspiration to you and give you hope too. I bear solomn testimiony, the day of mourning does come to an end. You will be happy again. And, the roller coaster will one day come to it's final hill. God is with you and baby Mac. Rest easy....God has heard your prayers.

Yay!!! Such wonderful pictures and I'm thrilled to know that I helped to donate to a part of that precious playground! Even better....the fact that your new little one will be able to enjoy it someday too. Hang in there....I can only imagine how difficult each day is for you, but continuing to pray for you both and baby on the way too!

I have been wondering if the playground was started-thanks for the update. I plan on coming when you have the dedication so this is exciting. I know it is bittersweet for you as a family but I know this will be used to further Gods Kingdom-it will reach many families for Him. Thanks for listening to Gods voice and being obedient to Him. Praying for you all.

Hi Jess and Joel.
I'm glad to hear your "voice" and to see that construction is underway for Cora's Playground. Undoubtedly, the families in your church (and community) must be terribly excited to see it finished. Sending the most sincere blessings and prayers to you both in a time that must be both exciting and saddening all at once. Thank you again for sharing your journey with all of us. Your faith encourages me every day. With love and prayers,
XOXO
