rainy day

Well after having such beautiful weather last week, this week has been nothing but cloudy skies and rain. But a farmer's wife never complains about rain. It's a rule...and I try my hardest to follow it. :) The crops have to grow, right? So yesterday I let Levi out to play and told him to have fun in the puddles and mud. He went straight for his four wheeler.

Joel got home and we were standing right inside the back door when we heard someone yelling, "Stuck! Stuck!" The four wheeler didn't quite make it through the mud puddle.

He was not very happy about the situation he was in.

But daddy came to the rescue...

 and off he went again.

Then he moved on to the big puddles in our driveway.

"Watch me!"
Pure joy. A few puddles and mud is all you need to make this little boy happy. I guess we should have been playing in the puddles all day instead of trying to keep ourselves busy inside.

I think a certain little farm boy might be needing some rain boots in the near future!

What a fun Mommy you are!

Levi is such a cutie pie :) I'm glad he was able to get his four wheeler un-stuck, but what an adorable little pouty face he had while stuck!

Hmmm . . . rain boots might be a fun idea. I had to wash two pairs of muddy tennis shoes yesterday. ;) Glad Levi had fun in the rain too.

So messy and so cute!

We've had a bit of rain, too (I'm up in MN) and I'm glad for it. I have brand new Hunter rain boots and need to get some wear out of them.

Love your blog and your great photos Jess!

The look on Levi's face is priceless when he is stuck in the mud! He looks so sad and frustrated. Thank goodness Daddy came to the rescue!

Aw, that is too cute! We have been doing a lot of puddle jumping at our house this week as well. It's such a mess, but they sure love it!

So cute! We live in Seattle & do rainy days outside all the time! Buy rain gear, let kids play outside & jump in puddles & then come inside for bath time & hot chocolate! Takes up a good portion of an afternoon!
Have fun!

All the best mamas let their kids play in mud puddles.

And the series of him running towards you?

Awesome.

Skip the mud boots and get chest waders! My boys LAY DOWN in the puddles the melting snow creates. They come inside completely soaked, covered in mud, and shivering. But they love it!

Oh my goodness he is so cute! I absolutely love the picture where his bottom lip is sticking out! I think he looks a lot like my 2.5 year old, actually. Sounds like our boys would get along so well!

Hey, check out thrift shops for rain boots. We buy ours for Charlotte for about $3 a pop. It's awesome.
