practicing his "big brotherliness"

While I am busy trying to get our house a little more organized, dreaming up nursery ideas, trying to be comfortable with my big growing belly {so hard}, enjoying these summer moments with just Levi, and trying to come up with another boy's name that we love...Levi has been busy practicing his "big brotherliness".

All of a sudden he decided he could climb onto chairs all by himself. Which means that if adults are sitting in a big chair he wants to sit in one too. He even goes so far as to remove his tired, pregnant mama from her chair so that he can have his own seat. Sitting in my lap just isn't cutting it anymore. Oh, and it also means that there are many more things that my big boy can reach with his new climbing skills. Nothing is safe anymore.

After having lunch at a friends house this week we also came home with this stroller. Levi LOVES it and has been pushing it all over the house. He moves at lighting speed and crashes into walls so I don't think he will be pushing his little brother around any time soon. For now, his doggie will have to do...and even he has to be buckled in!

How fun it will be to see Levi as a big brother.

I think those chairs must be a staple of every farm house....when we moved off the farm we brought them with & neighbors are always asking where they can get a set.

That's one of the best things about having more than 1 child...getting to see the sibling relationship grow! Seeing the "big brother" treat the "little brother" with such kindness and compassion is one of my favorite things about him. :)

Love it! Timmy is starting to climb on things too. Well...not starting to...just starting to get tall enough to get up on the things that I really dont want him on! And he also LOVES his big sisters doll stroller. He does the same full speed down the hall, slamming through doorways, chasing dogs and laughing SO hard! Love it!

WOW! WEston is just a few weeks older and they do so many things the same! He LOVES to push his 4 wheeler...doesnt care too much about riding it, but loves to push it and he absolutely loves the doll stroller at my parents...it his is favorite thing! That is so crazy. Thanks for sharing your life, it is so neat that we are at similar stages. I am due sept. 30th with our second and feeling the EXACT same as you!
I am having a hard time with the nursery as well...
Oh and one more thing (sorry this is long) did you use a moses basket for Levi? I thought I saw him in one at one point and I was thinking about getting one to use until we move Weston into a big boy bed...did you like it and do you think that would work while we keep her in our room?
Thanks!
Lyss

Our two year old Joshua has a stroller just like Levi. He calls it his "baby-ride". He too is rather wild in giving his favorite stuff friend (named "Black Bear") rides. He pushes for awhile and then says "OH NO - CRASH!".....and they all fall down. Little boys....gotta love em'!

He is getting so big! I just think your Levi is the sweetest looking boy. And I love the stroller pic! Ha!

My girl went through the whole chair thing. Thankfully it didn't last long - now she is back to sitting on my lap!

Too adorable!! I love to see how your little Levi is growing & his expressions are adorable!

With his love for pushing his four wheeler we should have known a stroller would have been right up his alley. LOL!

Well I am thinking you are going for a four letter name. I can see a Beau, Jack or Reid in your family :)I love how he is pushing the stroller. It makes no sense how boys are sometimes discouraged from doing things like cooking, pushing strollers, and even rocking babies. I mean Dad's do all that so why do some people think it is not appropriate for little boys. Anyway...you are very talented and I love your blog!

when we were looking for names, we made two copies of the social security top names list, one for each of us. Then, we each highlighted the names we liked and made our official list of the names we had both marked, and went from there. We committed to our most favorite for a few days and that really helped us decide if we liked it or not. We thought of them by that name, used the name out loud when we spoke to each other about them, wrote out the name...it really helped. One day my husband made me a sandwich and wrote "mommy & ____" on the baggie it was in. It was so sweet but I looked at it and went "no way, that's not the name"! My first son's name was so easy, but man, my second son went through about five names before we found the one we loved!
