that's how they roll

My boys like to drive around in big tractors.

Because that's how they roll.
At least that is what Joel always says.

Levi hasn't gotten much tractor time yet.
Joel didn't plant any wheat this year,
which meant no wheat harvest.

But Joel needed a lunch while he was doing some spraying one day,
so Levi and I went for a tractor ride.

I think Levi was a little overstimulated in the tractor.
He tried to push every button.
And for some reason his dad wouldn't let him touch anything!

Someday, Levi.
Someday you will get to drive that big tractor all by yourself.
And then you can push all the buttons too.

I won't show this to my husband who is in front of a computer all day for his work! He comes home to ride his little green tractor... to mow our little half acre yard. HAha.
My son went through a HUGE John Deere phase... Levi doesn't know how good he has it! :-)
p.s. I rarely post, but check in routinely. Love your blog!

Love reading your blog, Jess. You are such an inspiration to me! And little Levi is oh-so-precious! He and Noah would love getting together, although I think Levi is probably bigger!

I wanted to tell you that I started a website for parents of children birth through age 5 and I have my very first giveaway at:

AH! Farm boys are the best! I can so relate to this. My brother have spent countless hours on a John Deere.
Carhartt and John Deere...is there anything else? :)

Ori pretty much went nuts when he saw this post. He kept saying, "tractor, tractor, tractor." You just made his day!

Your boys are pretty cute

Spraying? What was he spraying?

You're not worried about exposure?

That is one big tractor. Boys & their toys, & every boy big & little all around are going to be jealous.

I looooove your posts about Joel's farming (and Levi is just the cutest thing ever on that huge tractor!). Can you do more? Is being a farmer's wife as idyllic as it seems in my head? :)

Let me just tell you the joy my son had when seeing these pictures. You see he is 4 yrs old and has a love affair with tractors. He came home from China this past April and tells us that his China Baba (dad) let him "drive" the "fong o jia" (excavators). Too bad we don't live on a farm!!! Jake says thanks for the pics

Okay - what they say about things being bigger in Texas is NOT true! (My life is ruined!) That is the hugest tractor I have ever seen!

Hi! I'm catching up on all of your posts from the summer. Glad to see ya'll have had a lot of 'firsts' with Levi. The beach pictures were SUPER cute. We only live an hour and thirty minutes from Destin(all the Santa Rosa beaches) so we make frequent trips. Don't feel bad about Levi not liking it, because my youngest boy, Sawyer, doesn't care for it either! Not sure where he gets his fear because his big brother is a fearless fish. :) Thanks for responding to my comment concerning your camera. :) I'm still interested in knowing what type of lens you have with your Nikon. I bought a 50mm fixed 1.8 several months ago, but am always looking for better lenses so I can take pics of my baby boys. Sorry for the long response....enjoy your time with that handsome little Levi. I'm a 4th grade teacher and only have two weeks left before we start back to school, so I'm trying to soak up all the time with my little ones. :) Looking forward to reading more of your inspiring/precious posts. May God continue to bless you beyond all measures!!

Thanks for this! One of my earliest memories is of my granddaddy letting me "drive" the tractor - I was probably 3 at the time.

I've been working in the Congo these last few weeks and was sitting in the garden checking email a few days ago when I heard this loud noise. Would you believe it was a John Deere tractor pulling up?!?
