vacation {rocky mountain national park}

Our last day together with Michael and Laura we spent
driving through Rocky Mountain National Park.
We love going there when we are at the cabin.
The scenery is beautiful and there are tons of hiking trails.

We took Levi on his first hiking experience.
He even had a cool backpack to ride in thanks to
his Gramps and Grammy.

He really liked it.
It looks like he may have to grow into it a little though.

I say we went hiking...
really we just walked along some trails.
Nothing very hard.
We figured that might be all we could handle with three kids.

We stopped half way to have a little picnic.
And to stretch a little too.

Our second "hike" was around Bear Lake.
Every time we stopped for a family picture,
Hunter wanted to be a part of our family.
He and Joel were buds.

Levi loved being outside and watching all the people.

His little hat kept falling over his eyes though.
It was really frustrating to him.

We drove all the way through over to Estes Park.

We walked around for a while and then stopped for dinner.

I think we were all pretty tired.

Here are the three boys at the end of the day.
We were sensing that they were ready to be done with the Colorado fun.

Michael and Laura left from Estes Park to head back home.
It was sad to say goodbye.
We always have so much fun together.
We went back to the cabin for one more night.

The next day we said goodbye to Grandpa and Grandma.

Levi didn't know what to think of Grandpa's beard.
It was funny how he kept pulling on it.

We wish we could have stayed longer.
We love spending time at the cabin.
Thanks for letting us come Grandpa and Grandma!

Levi is one of the chubbiest cutest little boys I've ever seen! And you have figured out how to dress a boy super cute (as we all know it's much easier with the girls).

We just came back from a family Reunion. We had it at Estes Park at the YMCA. That area is gorgeous. We also hiked at the Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park and oh boy, not sure if I was having a heart attack or what but I was out of breath and had to stop every so often.

Love the pics of Levi. He looked very content.

Awww! One of our favorite family vacations was to CO, Estes Park and Vail, Rocky Mtn National Park. When you're from blazing hot Nashville, the weather there just feels DIVINE. It makes me happy just thinking about it! So fun!!

Hi - I found your blog through someone (probably in Utah) who was posting to my niece's blog. My niece Kendra lost her little 5 month old baby girl Makenzie in December 2009. Her trust and faith is the Lord is fragile but hopefully she will come to see the goodness of God and she will know someday without a doubt that her daughter is still her daughter and that the love never goes away. Your blog is a testiment of faith, hope, joy, love and, yes, even sorrow that children sometimes bring into our lives. You are truly an amazing and wonderful cute little family. I love the playground. Please see my niece's blog at:
Kendra is still at that point in time where the pain is sometimes unbearable. Share with her if you feel compelled. You know her pain and sorrow but you seem to have a grasp on how to best make it through (no around) the hard times. Because of their siutation, having another child is not a simple process - there are no easy or clear options. Pray for her and I will pray for her and you both. Have a wonderful day. A friend, Mary Ann

I discovered your blog a few months back from another blog who had posted Cora' story. I have been inspired by your family and how they have gotten through such a horrendous ordeal. I can't imagine losing a child.

That said...what wonderful vacation photos! I live in Colorado Springs myself and enjoy the CO weather very much!

Also, I have the exact same Chicco stroller system (grey & green), as well as the Chicco red umbrella stroller, for my little boy! What are the odds! :)
